This Friday (August 30) marks my 29th anniversary
of making aliyah - moving to Israel.
I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and
I still have my Brooklyn accent (and proud of it!).
Back in the 80's there was a t-shirt that said it all:
"I love New York but Israel is my home".
If you want to know why I made aliyah, check out
the videos and articles at:
www.jr.co.il/aliyah/why.htm

Next week is Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year.
I posted Rosh Hashana educational resources at:
www.jr.co.il/hotsites/j-hdayrh.htm

The Rosh Hashana video list now has 256 video links.
I am sure it will get larger over the next week.
Enjoy the videos at:

Welcome Home to the New Olim (and 304 photos)

Hi Everyone!

Congratulations and welcome home to the 331 new olim that
made aliyah to Israel from North America. The NBN aliyah charter
flight arrived in Israel on Tuesday morning and included 88 children
in 41 families and 172 singles. The youngest oleh in the group is
one and a half months old and the oldest oleh is 75 years old.
A record 125 of the single olim will be joining the IDF.

I took 304 photos of the exciting, historic event and I posted them
online at:
www.jr.co.il/pictures/israel/history/2013/a785.htm
As of today, there are now over 10,000 photos in the
aliyah photo gallery.

I also posted the 304 photos on Facebook for name tagging.
The Facebook album address is:
http://on.fb.me/olim-aug13-2013-facebook

If you have a Facebook account and you are in the photos or
see someone you know, please feel free to name tag the photos.

May the aliyah from all over of the world grow and bring
more Jews back to their homeland, Eretz Yisrael.

Have a good evening,
Jacob

Photos of the Jerusalem Model Train Exhibition

Hi Everyone!

Today, I visited the model train exhibition in Jerusalem.
It was very nice and I highly recommend it.
(Ma'ale Adumim's city hall may still have discount tickets)

I posted the photos on my website at:
www.jr.co.il/pictures/israel/jerusalem/2013/jer353.htm

The photos are also posted in a Facebook album at:
http://bit.ly/model-train-exhibition

I took over 60 videos of the exhibition. I did not realize how many
videos I created until I got home and uploaded the camera's
memory card to my computer.
Next week, I will (b"h) create one short video of selected clips.

Enjoy the photos!

Shabbat Shalom,
Jacob
